2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, from environmental disasters to world-wide
pandemics and now the rise of the COVID-19 second wave. Dr Adam Fraser’s recent research project
with E-Lab and Deakin University revealed that our educators have stepped up to the challenge with
outstanding results. The next difficulty will be how we can manage to maintain enough energy to see
out the rest of the year.
Dr Adam Fraser, with the support of Teachers Mutual Bank, are offering educators a free online
workshop to share evidence-based research and practical tangible methods to tap into. ‘The Third
Space’ and help you develop behavioural agility.

Board directors, councillors and committee members need to know their roles and responsibilities so they can perform well and with confidence. Associations Forum's Board Governance presentation is practical in approach, based on extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector and delivered to a face-to-face meeting of the Governing Board / Management Committee
The session covers:1. Corporate governance2. Terminology, law, tax status3. Board role, duties, accountability responsibility4. Key documents and Constitution 5. Members, governance, management6. Operations of the board7. Improving Board performance
While general comment is made about different organisational structures, focus is placed on the target organisation and the specific requirements of its legislation e.g. Associations Incorporation Act 1981 (Qld). Emphasis is placed on ensuring committee members understand their obligations and the difference between governance and management.
Presenter Short Bio:Adrian Hart, Manager Client Services, Associations Forum, is a senior advisor to professional, industry and business related associations. He has over 30 year’s association management and board governance experience, including Chief Executive and Board Chair roles.
Through Associations Forum, he has provided governance training and advisory services, plus undertaken external reviews, and assisted several federated organisations transition to single national bodies.He seeks to create excellence in association governance and management leading to positive outcomes in client industries, market places and community generally.His specific areas of interest include, governance & strategy, change management, member acquisition, media relations, policy development & lobbying, member benefit programs and external reviews
